The Multi-Colored Ties appeared in 1990 as a hastily-named high school pick-up a cappella group intended to emcee Northport (Long Island, New York) High School's Rock Revival. Its members quickly saw the value of the group and inducted new members to replace its graduating seniors. The tradition continues to this day. As its repertoire evolves, the Ties continue to represent a lighter and more social side of Northport's High School's brilliant choral music program. Now with a strong alumni base, the Multi-Colored Ties possess unique momentum and fledgling traditions. 

The Ties perform private and public events all over Long Island, in New York City, and locally in Northport, NY.  Andrew Cowie, Cory Ryan, Jonathan Sacca, Ben Kramer, James Volpe, Jason Rostkowsi, Ian Cleary, John Paraszczuk & Danny Meglio are the current ('08-'09) Ties.
